Chocolate and almond Maamoul
Ingredients
250 g soft butter
1 kilogram of semolina
1/2 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1 tablespoon mahlab
3 tablespoons of orange blossom water
3 tablespoons of rose water
The filling
300 g of chopped chocolate
500 g chopped almonds
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
How to prepare
Mix semolina with butter, then add sugar, mahlab, yeast, blossom water and rose water.
Mix the mixture by hand until it is homogeneous. Set aside for 2 hours.
Put the ingredients for the filling in a bowl in the microwave for two minutes, until the chocolate melts completely. Set aside to cool.
Divide the dough into small circles, then roll each one by hand and fill it with the chocolate mixture before closing it and place it in a special mold to form the maamoul.
Arrange baking paper in a tray and place in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
It can be served hot.
