From Katie Holmes to Elsa Hosk, Alexa Chung, Kendall Jenner, and Julianne Moore, celebrities have been rocking Birkenstock sandals. And we are not surprised as 2021 is clearly the year of comfortable clothes and shoes. Founded in 1774 in Germany, the brand’s mission was to provide orthopedic sandals that offer support and that are comfortable. The ‘60s saw the rise of the Birkenstocks in fashion with the hippie movement, and ever since, they were on-off trends, as they are often considered controversial and even “ugly” shoes, while other times they are seen as stylish. However, celebrities love these shoes and they always style them in inspirational looks; so if you’re already a Birkenstocks addict, you will love the celebrities’ summer looks in these sandals, and if you’re rather skeptic about wearing them, we bet you these looks will have you change your mind and you will make Birkenstocks sandals a wardrobe staple.

For today’s look, we got inspired by one of Elsa Hosk’s summer off-duty looks. The Swedish model and former Victoria's Secret Angel styled her black Birkenstock sandals with a fresh mini dress, an oversized clutch and a cute bucket hat. To copy her look, we paired a gorgeous Zimmermann printed dress with Birkenstock x CSM Cosy leather sandals, a big Valentino black clutch and a tie-dye Paco Rabanne bucket hat. We kept things minimalistic in terms of jewelry as we chose only a signet ring in gold-tone from Chloé.
